Marina Bay Yachting Center

Marina Bay Yachting Center is a four-star luxury marina located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is home to 168 boat slips, each of which can accommodate vessels up to 150 feet in length. The marina offers a variety of services, including overnight, seasonal, and annual slip rental, charter boat services, fuel delivery, yacht management, and yacht services.

Marina Bay was founded in 1963 and quickly became a popular destination for the rich and famous. In the 1970s and 1980s, it was known as the “Marina of the Stars” and hosted a roster of celebrity members that included Ronald Reagan, Kenny Rogers, Bob Hope, and many others.

In addition to its luxurious accommodations, Marina Bay also offers a variety of amenities for its guests. These include a 10,000 square-foot clubhouse with a resort pool, a state-of-the-art fitness and tennis facility, a private theater, a handball court, a business center, a Captain’s Lounge, and the famous waterfront restaurant Rendezvous Bar and Grill.

Marina Bay Yachting Center was in need of replacing their existing docks at the marina with floating docks. They needed luxurious one-of-a-kind Boat Docks for their marina that could accommodate both mega yachts and fishing boats. The best solution for the marina was to work with an experienced manufacturer that offers phenomenal customer service and marine knowledge. Marina Bay Yachting Center’s General Manager, John Conner worked hand in hand with AccuDock Owner, Jason Harrison on designing a dock system that would meet the needs of the marina’s diverse clientele. Due to high traffic at Marina Bay the renovation needed to be done locally and in phases allowing the marina to be operational at all times. 

The Marina consists of floating docks that are 170 feet in length comprised of aluminum finished with PVC Wolf decking and equipped with custom-built chain brackets for anchoring purposes due to the deep water of the Marina Bay basin. The docks feature Heavy Duty 12” aluminum dock structures with a floatation height of 33 inches and a desired freeboard of 42 inches. Each dock has full utility access for electricity and water and is equipped with custom-built chain brackets for anchoring purposes due to the necessary depth of the water at the marina. The new docks are made from high-quality materials and are designed to withstand both the harsh Florida climate and the weight of large boats.

The renovation project was completed in phases to minimize disruption to the marina’s operations. The first phase of the project involved the demolition of the old docks. The second phase involved the installation of the new docks. The third and final phase of the project involved the installation of new amenities, such as lighting and security cameras.

The renovation project was a major undertaking, but it was well worth it. The new docks are a major improvement over the old docks, and they will provide Marina Bay with many years of reliable service. Regarded as one of the finest marinas in the world, Marina Bay Yachting Center is rated among the top 100 mega yacht marinas by Showboats International and will continue this reputation.
