The University of Alabama spans approximately 1,970 acres and includes a mix of historic and modern buildings. Over the years, UA has undergone significant expansion and development, including new academic buildings, residence halls, and recreational facilities to enhance the student experience. The University of Alabama sought AccuDock’s expertise to design a dock system for their new boathouse. The facility, situated on elevated ground, required a convenient water access point. Inspired by a previous AccuDock project across the river, the university needed a similar layout that accommodated their coaches’ rowing launches. Given the elevated position of their boathouse, convenient dock access was crucial. AccuDock’s customization options provided a unique design for additional floating landing areas. AccuDock’s floating dock and gangway solutions allowed for a unique design that met both the university’s aesthetic and practical needs, providing a durable and efficient dock for faculty and students alike.

The new 189′ custom rowing dock features built-in shell slips, an 80′ gangway, and durable PVC decking. The dock provides a secure and efficient base of operations. AccuDock’s expertise in customization allowed the university to design a facility perfectly suited to its rowing program, accommodating various shell types. Beyond its tailored design, the dock’s low-maintenance construction and easy installation make it a cost-effective, long-term investment.
