Wahoo Bay

Wahoo Bay is an immersive underwater experience designed to captivate visitors of all ages, especially children while fostering a deep appreciation for our ocean’s delicate ecosystems. By seamlessly blending education and entertainment, Wahoo Bay aims to inspire conservation efforts for healthy and thriving reefs.

Located in the sheltered waters of the city of Pompano Beach’s Hillsboro Inlet Park, this unique environment will preserve and enhance natural resources while incorporating interactive art, live scientific exploration, and engaging educational displays. Designed to stimulate all senses, Wahoo Bay will be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. The onshore component will complement the underwater experience with interactive exhibits and outdoor classrooms, creating a comprehensive learning environment.

The City of Pompano Beach wanted to provide Wahoo Bay’s visitors with unparalleled water access. By recognizing the limitations of their fixed concrete pier, they reached out to AccuDock to design a custom floating dock that would not only transform their waterfront into an inviting oasis but also provide their visitors with safe and easy access to the water.

The dock features a spacious 7′ x 14′ entry platform constructed with durable PVC decking in a driftwood finish and is secured by safety pickets. Access to the platform is facilitated by a 5′ x 40′ ADA Compliant aluminum gangway equipped with non-skid decking and intermediate handrails for safety. The main attraction is the 16′ x 34′ floating dock, providing ample space for relaxation and enjoyment. For easy boarding, custom ladders are conveniently located on both the southeast and southwest sides of the dock.

The City of Pompano Beach has revitalized Wahoo Bay into an immersive marine education center. With the addition of the new AccuDock, the bay is now more accessible than ever, promising to become a beloved destination for those eager to explore the wonders of the underwater world.
